I am Andy Franks from Grass Valley, CA. I moved to San Diego in 2006 as a college freshman at Point Loma Nazarene University. After graduating with a degree in theology in 2010, I took an awesome job living as a roommate and mentor to a man with Down’s Syndrome.
Education: Presently, I am active in my local church (Solana Beach Presbyterian) and am in the
application process for graduate school, where I hope to earn a master’s degree at
Duke Divinity School.
Experience: Alongside my experience with Down’s Syndrome, I also have experience mentoring children with autism and working with individuals with various degrees of brain damage and have loved every second of it! I have further experience running summer camps, teaching swim lessons and tutoring various subjects.
Hobbies & Skills: I currently live in Solana Beach, where the location is prime for one of my favorite things- surfing! I also enjoy reading, writing, playing basketball and am looking for motivation to continue progressing on the guitar. On top of all that, I am a serious San Francisco Giants fan (sorry Southern California).
