In their own words:

I’d like to offer my sincere thanks for matching up my son Mathieu with Evan.  It’s been done with care and concern for my son’s growth, development & ability to learn beyond the walls of his computer world, and eventually be able to give back to society, with the proper mentoring.  I can tell these things because of the type of mentoring Mathieu has received, and also because of the process of matching.  I do believe that Mat’s computer world is important to maintain for Mathieu to grow and excel, and with new devices he can still socialize through his computer and gaming world, however there’s so many venues for Mat to discover, or at least try.  I like to be able to provide those opportunities, and Evan helps make that happen.

Mathieu has made such good and worthwhile progress with Evan’s mentoring; I have to add I have observed that Evan is a kind, most patient, professional, and dedicated mentor.
Evan has managed to get Mathieu out of the house on days when, I thought no one would be able to; sometimes Mat gets stuck in autistic, OCD endless loops.  I appreciate that Evan goes the extra mile to teach Mat, about things that pertain to world history, our culture and society and how it has evolved.  Evan chooses activities that are appealing to an extremely intellectual person with autism, such as my son.  Evan respects Mathieu despite his autism, and has recognized that Mat is savant when it comes to computers.  It wouldn’t matter if Mat is savant or not, or fully verbal, which he is; I believe that these children need to be treated, with understanding and respect and are not disposable individuals; I can tell that Evan shares this belief.

Evan has provided help for me in regards to Mathieu  and made suggestions as to what might work.

I’d like you to also know that Evan is always a dedicated employee, and seeks to recruit new employees for your programs, trust me I know this; Evan has met with my other aides, that help me with Mathieu and always asks if I would be willing to vouch for their integrity as child care workers, their honesty, and dependability.

With Appreciation,
Marianne Morissette RN, BSN, MA, AC-E
